Wednesday

Getting closer now.

My trip to the dental tech man was Ok today. At first the pushing in and out was painful. I said my gum is still swollen and there is a bit that is white because not a lot of flesh on it , so be careful. He said Ok I can cut away a bit for now. But that sore bit will heal in time.

It was supposed to be a quick  registration test. But  when he put the wax upper and lower plate in it was all cock eyed. I was afraid of this he said. When you did  the bite test we didn’t quite get it right. Which is not unusual. Now I can take another impression and you can come back tomorrow, or I can work on it now. What do you  think. I said I have all day so do your thing.

Well  it took an hour and a half of,  in and out , in and out, so many times. A little alteration here and there. Heat them slightly  back in and bite, out more work, until finally he said Ha! Ha! now that looks good to me. He gave me a mirror ,Yep that looks Ok I said. OK now you’ve had all the excitement. What you  get now is a break. I will give you a call  next week and they will be ready. I said I am away next Friday. OH! I will try to get them ready for then but I wont promise..

Tuesday

Warm Summer days behind us now.

Today I am off for  my Bite registration . It’s a week ago since my extractions. I can’t believe I still need pain killers for it. My gum is still tender and its like tooth ache. It looks healthy.

We shall see.

My guitar practice took a turn for the better yesterday.. It seems my struggle with bar chords was because I was or am doing it wrong. I watched a youtube lesson. So I am hoping that may have made a big difference for me. Because I picked up  the guitar and instantly I could play 2 bar chords.

***

Had my bite fitting. Back again tomorrow for  visual and articulation. Then I think it’s a clear week for processing. Then I will have a full  mouth of teeth again something not seen for a number of years. The Technician said the discomfort could last for a while yet. But  he showed me the impressions  today. He is pleased with them. I know they are only wax today but I said my! they do feel comfortable. I thought they would feel odd. He just smiled and said Good. He offered me a choice of 3 sets of coloured  teeth . Which  do you like. Hm! , not those I said they are  too white. Thats not me. To be honest not much between the other 2. Well there is he said but its subtle. I said those then I think. Yes he said my choice also. Perfect match. So that’s settled.

Maybe I was optimistic about my Bar chords! Some are ok some are S..t. Just keep practicing . My BP is down to 125/55. If it goes any lower they  will give me mouth to mouth.

Myeloma

Monday

Oh where are those warm summer days.

My Gum is still sore to touch and my lips are still swollen. And the site that I keep biting my lip is not healing. Ive put Bonjela on it  loads of times over the weekend. The denture I am having for the lower is called Valplast. I dug this bit of info.

Valplast :

The most recent advance in dental materials has been the application of nylon-like materials to the fabrication of dental appliances. This material (the most common name brand is ValPlast) generally replaces the metal and the pink acrylic denture material used to build the framework for standard removable partial dentures. ValPlast is similar to the material used to build those fluorescent orange traffic cones you sometimes see on highways. It is nearly unbreakable, coloured pink like the gums, can be built quite thin and can form not only the denture base, but the clasps as well. Since the clasps are built to curl around the necks of the teeth, they are practically indistinguishable from the gums that normally surround the teeth.

So its watch this space. Anyone else have these? What do you think?.

007 anyone else think Daniel Craig has as much charisma as and ice lolly?

Sunday

This is a pressed English Rose. Mavis sent this to me in 1957 when I was in Germany  in the Army. Ive kept it all this time. Tonight going through some old albums I found it.

The message says: Hear is an English flower,Something I doubt you have seen in your 6 months,it represents your  English wife to be.

How sweet!

Off to the dental Technician at 10;15. I hope he hasn’t forgotten to alter his clocks. Amazed that he will see me on a Sunday. But I suppose  as its private its money.

The dental  visit was a lot less traumatic than the extraction. He apologised for the room being cold. The stuff took a while to set in my mouth and blimey was it cold. It played havoc with the sockets that have just been healing. It really gave me teeth ache. Like eating ice cream with sensitive tooth. But the next painful bit was the £200 deposit. My next appointment is Tuesday that’s for a bite registration? Then Thursday for something else. Then next thursday to collect them. So Quick.

I’ve been using my heated pad on my back. It seems to have helped a bit. been practicing guitar again. I still struggle but hey so what.

Saturday

What a day yesterday. My Mavis has been given an Award for all her hard work  in Asbestos Awareness from IATP. She will receive it at a special event day later in the year.

Well done Mavis.

Funny old night last night. i was awake when mavis said are you awake. Yes I said ,do you fancy a coffee. Oh Go on then . I put the light on Gosh ,its only 20 to 3 she said. So What! So I made tea and coffee. we put the telly on and watched TV for half an hour of pure rubbish . Right Lights off  and back to sleep. Ok  agreed. next thing I knew its 8.45 . You better get up she said standing in the doorway . The man is coming to do the path. So she took Louis for a quick walk. He is here she said. So it was a quick dash to the bathroom ,15 mins later I emerged ready to face the world. We watched him cleaning the path with his new High Pressure washer. He was all red-faced . He looked frozen. It is bitter cold today. But  when he finished I donned my Thick coat  to go out and thank him. He was his usual  happy-go-lucky self. Are you cold and wet I asked, no I am fine he said. He had to buy a new machine because yesterday  when he started, his blew up. He said this one was the bees knees. So much better. So perhaps we did him a favour. All done now he said, I will be back on Tuesday to do your windows.

We do have a bright sunny morning but it’s so cold out,at least we don’t have the snow  that others are experiencing. We are glad we cancelled the weekend away. I think we would have regretted it. Apart from maves condition I don’t like the cold and Louis certainly doesn’t. getting him out for a walk when its windy is a challenge. He just stands and stares at you.

I have picked up my painting again ,I spent about an hour on it and I have pulled it back from disaster. It now actually looks more like the dog  than it did when I abandoned it. i still have work to do on it but it’s getting there.

I just found a note inside my latest prescription from my Doctors, He wants Blood Pressure Figs. So I do my own and I will email them to him.

Friday

Well the jaw is pretty good today healing nicely. Only  trouble is I now keep biting my Lip and I have a big open sore  spot on it. I’ve put Bonjela on it that’s helped.

I  contacted the Dentist today and Cancelled my  further appointments. So that’s all done now. My next step is to contact  the Dental Technician to make an appointment with him. So I will do that later.

We went shopping earlier. But it was cold and damp. So louis only got a short walk. Well I did take him this morning.

My back is playing up . The guy came to pressure wash all my paths today but  about 10 mins after he started he blew up his machine. He said I’ll be Back. I said that sounds Like Arnie. But its 5 pm now so I guess he aint.

Mavis said she is glad we didn’t go away today as its got all wintry. So  tomorrow ,who knows?. I said I didnt mind staying home in the warm and in her condition  so should she, but I dont  interfere. What ever she wants that’s fine by me.

I’ve had to tell Jacquie that I have given up on the painting. With a white dog on a white rug, I just get any contrast and the more I try the worse it looks. I suppose I can’t win em all.

Thursday

Just sitting around waiting for  2.30 when I  leave to go to the dentist for 2 extractions. No the best of experiences . But  I must concentrate on how much I will save when I switch after the extraction. We will be going away  at the weekend so I hope by the time I get home on Sunday  the gum will be fit enough  for  an impression. I am surprised that  he will see me so soon after the extractions . But he said new teeth in about a week.

Whats your best score on spider solitaire. I cannot get below 94 frustrating. Only an hour and a quarter before Dentist!!!! Yuk

***

Back from Dentist now. Sitting in waiting room is bad enough but when they are running 15 mins late Oh Boy do the nerves kick in. At last I am in the chair. hello OK lets have a look. Hum! Right we will start with an anesthetic . The needle seems to come out the back of your head. % lots of that but  each one less painful it works quickly. OK sit back for a few mins.

OK How does it feel now ?. All funny. Yes. Good Ok open wide for me. I have always had problems with Extractions. Today no exception. he was pushing and pulling my head all over the place. All the time twisting. I could feel  the pressure and hear the creaks. I thought any minute now it will break, then we will have problems ,as I have had that before. But  he was thorough. OK all done he said as he shoved a pad in my mouth.

I said that one was a bugger wasnt it. Yes it was deep-rooted. I had to do it slow and careful or I may snap it. The other one was not so much of a problem as it now had room to move.

After sitting for 5 minutes he said Ok you can leave now. I will see you next week when we do the rest.

But I have decided not to have the rest out, so I must cancel the appointment later.

Been home an hour and a half still got a frozen face, Mavis is wondering what she can give me for tea? Something Soft I suggested.

At least  the bleeding has stopped it looks healthy.

Definitely  closer now.

Another day tomorrow.
