New garden

It started last Saturday Terry and nicky came. he brought his Chainsaw to cut down the 2 big red tree things.. On sunday the plan was to replace the grass mat and get a nice new piece so I ordered 10 mts. x 2 mts.

We removed the slabs that was a pathway to front gate..

As the week progressed I recited the slabs up to the base line . Removed them and bedded them in again filled the space with gravel. Still not happy removed them again. The stump left by the tree was anoying me. Mave said leave it when grass comes it will cover it and it will dye. I now had to rake the area and remove as many roots as I can. The grass came and well it was heavy and it took both of us to drag it into place. Mave said lovely jubly. But as the week wore on I keep seeing a greatbig bulge where the root is. mave said cut a hole in the grass it will be ok.

But I was not happy so I uncovered it and with a pickaxe I spent the morning chopping and smashing that root Now I could roll grass over it and that lump was gone. Net job was to stretch it best as we can and put lots of camping pegs in to hold it down. Next job was use the 2 green side panels in the gap beside the shed a problem but I did it. Now the other 2 green side panels mave wanted them each side of the front gate. problem here is the metal arch is rusted and broken and its pissed at an angle so first I had to force one side up to level it . next fix the 2 panels to support the metal arch. Next The gate in the side garden needed sorting that also was leaning at an angle once sorted I had to secure it.

Next was to cut and fit strips all along the side garden in the gap between us and nextdoor it will stop weeds growing and keep it all away from nextdoors fence. Now it was decided that a nice bit of green all round the pond will finish that off. So i did that. Now with all that done its taken 6 days working in the hot sun we are both knackered as mavis has been cutting back and clearing up after me. Tomorrow will be my last bit Mave wants to use the slabs behind the shed. Not sure if that will work but I will give it a go. Its been the hardest we have worked for ages. Mavis fell over and couldnt get up thats worrying. But then yesterday I was laying down to put spikes in and i couldnt get up either. Much to old for this game.
